Job summary

Devotion Hospice in Brighton, CO is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to provide patient-centered care across age groups. You will develop and evaluate Plans of Care, document progress, and collaborate with the care team to meet patient goals.

The role requires a valid OT license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license. HomeCare HomeBase experience and 1 year of OT experience are preferred, with the ability to lift and assist in mobility as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical assessment; identify patient needs and appropriateness of care.
  • Document and revise the Plan of Care and progress notes timely.
  • Accept assignments within education and competence.
  • Participate in IDG care planning process.
  • Apply infection control and standard precautions during patient care.
  • Assess ROM, strength, coordination and ADL performance; tailor adaptive equipment.

Salary Range: $50.00 To $75.00 Hourly

The Occupational Therapist is a licensed professional who provides occupational therapy to patients/clients of all age groups. Plans, implements and evaluates patient/client care plans to restore or maintain patient/client well being. Evaluates occupational roles and occupational performance of patients/clients with physical, psycho-social and/or cognitive impairments. Provides interventions for deficits and elicits responses. Participates in the coordination of care.

As a Occupational Therapist , you will:
  • Perform clinical assessment; identifies patient needs and appropriateness of patient.
  • Documents, prepares, revises, and completes a Plan of Care, progress notes, phone orders and other clinical record documentation on an ongoing basis and in a timely manner.
  • Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients/clients.
  • Participates in the IDG care planning process.
  • Apply concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordination/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
  • Assess and facilitate through direct therapeutic intervention the patient's ROM, strength, coordination, need for and use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications, functional mobility and safety issues as related to patient’s ADL performance needs. Fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints.
  • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient occupational performance in the areas of self-care, work, leisure and rest. Assess sensory-motor neuromuscular, psycho-social and cognitive-perceptual components of occupational behavior. Assess physical, social and cultural components of the patient’s occupational environment.
  • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the Agency and the licensing board.
  • Promotes the Agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
Requirements
  • Valid Occupational Therapy License
  • 1 year of occupational therapy experience preferred
  • CPR certificationValid Driver’s License & Auto Insurance
  • HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred

  • Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs..
