Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess patients requiring rehabilitation, design and oversee treatment plans, and educate families. You will document progress, collaborate with the care team, and ensure high standards of patient-centered care in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include supervising OT Assistants, maintaining compliance with HIPAA, and participating in ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current valid license/registration for state of practice.
• Experience supervising OT Assistants.
• Experience in long-term care/geriatric settings preferred.
• Demonstrates strong documentation skills.
• Performs evaluations, progress notes, recertifications and discharges.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide patient-centered care.
• Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients to determine rehabilitation needs and goals.
• Develop and administer treatment plans with physician guidance.
• Set realistic patient goals and monitor progress.
• Document patient condition and care in records.
• Educate patients and families on therapy methods.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to optimize care.
• Ensure timely, professional attendance and conduct.
• Oversee and supervise OT Assistants as needed.
• Handle additional duties assigned by Rehabilitation Director.

Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities Include:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Occupational Therapist will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Occupational Therapist must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patients condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate therapy method.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist college or university.
• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• The Occupational Therapist is responsible for overseeing and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Evaluations, weekly progress notes, re-certification and discharge documentations.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation
• Compliance with confidentiality, HIPPA and Federal Residents Rights.
