Job summary

Legacy Kids Inc. is hiring licensed occupational therapists to provide in-home early intervention across Long Island and New York City. You will work one-on-one with infants and toddlers from birth to age three in families' homes, coaching parents to integrate therapy techniques into daily routines.

Caseloads are flexible; you choose towns to cover and set your own schedule. We offer full-time, part-time, and contract arrangements, with session rates starting at $58.

Qualifications

• Build fine motor and hand skills through play with infants and toddlers.
• Support sensory processing and self-regulation during daily routines.
• Work on feeding and mealtime skills with new textures and utensils.
• Promote independence in dressing and other self-care tasks for toddlers.
• Suggest simple positioning changes, adaptive equipment and home setup to support routines.
• Write measurable outcomes for the child’s IFSP and track progress session to session.
• Coach caregivers to carry the work into daily life between visits.

Legacy Kids Inc. is hiring licensed occupational therapists for in-home early intervention across Long Island and New York City. You carry a caseload of infants and toddlers from birth to age three, working one on one in the family's home and coaching parents to carry the work into their everyday routines.

What the work looks like

• Build fine motor and hand skills through play: reaching, grasping, releasing, stacking and early tool use.
• Support sensory processing and self-regulation so a child can stay calm, alert and engaged during daily routines.
• Work on feeding and mealtime skills, including new textures, utensil use and sitting through a meal.
• Grow independence in dressing and the other self-care routines appropriate for a toddler.
• Suggest simple positioning changes, adaptive equipment and home setup that make routines easier for the family.
• Write measurable outcomes for the child's Individualized Family Service Plan and track progress session to session.
• Coach caregivers so the practice continues between your visits.

What you need

• A current New York State license in Occupational Therapy.
• A New York State Department of Health Early Intervention approval letter is not required to apply. New graduates are welcome.

How the position works

• W-2 employee or 1099 independent contractor, whichever you prefer.
• Session rates start at $58 and increase with experience. If you are joining us from another agency we will match your current rate.
• You choose your towns and set your own schedule, so the caseload fits around your other commitments.
• Session notes are fully digital and the billing is handled for you, with no separate billing paperwork.
• Full time, part time and contract caseloads are all available.

Where you would work

Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. You tell us the towns you want to cover. Our home base is Amityville, NY 11701, and you see children in their own homes.
