Adventist HealthCare’s White Oak Medical Center seeks a qualified Occupational Therapist for Inpatient Rehabilitation. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and involves acute care, outpatient, and inpatient rehab settings with day shifts.

Responsibilities include comprehensive evaluations, therapy planning, patient and team communication, and discharge planning. Maryland licensure and BLS are required, with at least 1 year of site-specific experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Maryland OT License is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

AHC Rehabilitation - White Oak Medical Center

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Occupational Therapist for our Inpatient Rehabilitation department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus. (Current AHC employees not eligible – see below under additional details.)

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings (flex to any Rehab site as needed)
• Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care. The therapist involves the patient/client and appropriate others in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the plan of care, and reexamines the patient/client as necessary during an episode of care to evaluate progress or change in patient/client status and modify the plan of care accordingly or discontinue occupational therapy services
• In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for discharge of the patient/client taking into consideration achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, and provide for appropriate follow-up or referral. The occupational therapist discontinues intervention when the patient/client is unable to continue to progress toward goals or when the occupational therapist determines that the patient/client will no longer benefit from therapy (in coordination with referring provider/team where indicated)
• Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management including the results of the initial examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in patient/client status relative to the interventions, reexamination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention and other patient/client management activities with members of the care team as indicated. Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers
• Manage schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and inform management of any issues with caseload management
• Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using, if needed, the medical record or other treating therapists to ensure sufficient knowledge of the case
• Be responsible for individual professional development activities
• Educates and provides consultation to consumers, healthcare professionals, students and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• 1 year of site-specific experience preferred
• Active Maryland OT License
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hrs /week)

Typical Daily Schedule: Monday - Friday

Weekends: Required, working 1 Saturday or Sunday a month

$10,000 sign-on bonus over 3 installments (paid at 90 days, 1 year, & 2 years of hire date) *Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $34.58 - $55.76 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
