Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide examination and evaluation to determine prognosis, deliver intervention, and update the plan of care. You will consult with medical and support staff to ensure optimal patient care, perform comprehensive evaluations, and maintain timely documentation.

The role is per diem, part-time, on-site with hourly rate of $57.25; NJ licensure and CPR certification are required, plus a valid driver's license and insurance proof for home care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (AOTA accredited)
• CPR certification
• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Driver's license and proof of automobile registration (for home care assignments)

Responsibilities

• Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members to provide optimum patient care and effective operations.
• Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions, evaluating effectiveness and modifying the plan of care as appropriate.
• Maintains and completes evaluations, patient records, reports and all written documentation timely and in accordance with guidelines.
• Effectively communicates with patient and/or family, providing education and literature.

Summary:

Provides occupational therapy examination and evaluation to determine prognosis, provide intervention, and update plan of care.

Position Responsibilities:

• Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members/supervisors to provide optimum quality patient care and effective operations.
• Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and modification of plan of care as appropriate.
• Maintains and completes evaluations, patient records, reports and all written documentation effectively and in a timely manner, in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines.
• Effectively utilizes aides and other support staff as appropriate.
• Effectively communicates with patient and/or family/significant other in providing education and literature in accordance with the patient's age, physical condition and cultural needs.

Required Education:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by the AOTA.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• For home care and early intervention staff, a valid driver's license, current automobile registration and proof of insurance.
