Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a per diem, part-time, on-site position at our Lippincott Drive location. The role focuses on examination, evaluation, and updating plans of care to support patients’ recovery.

You will collaborate with medical teams, document thoroughly, and provide patient and family education while delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a community-focused health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited program.
• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• For home care and early intervention staff, a valid driver's license, current automobile registration and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members to provide optimum patient care and effective operations.
• Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions, including assessing effectiveness and modifying plan of care as appropriate.
• Maintains and completes evaluations, patient records, reports and all written documentation in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines.
• Effectively utilizes aides and other support staff as appropriate.
• Effectively communicates with patient and/or family to provide education and literature suited to age, condition, and culture.

Summary

Provides occupational therapy examination and evaluation to determine prognosis, provide intervention, and update plan of care.

Position Responsibilities

• * Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and modification of plan of care as appropriate.
• * Maintains and completes evaluations, patient records, reports and all written documentation effectively and in a timely manner, in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines.
• * Effectively utilizes aides and other support staff as appropriate.
• * Effectively communicates with patient and/or family/significant other in providing education and literature in accordance with the patient's age, physical condition and cultural needs.

Required Education

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by the AOTA.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• For home care and early intervention staff, a valid driver's license, current automobile registration and proof of insurance.

Hourly Rate: $70.00 - $154.00
