Job summary

Pate Rehabilitation in Irving, TX is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team and help patients regain independence through goal-directed therapy. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates who join our rehabilitation team.

You will develop and implement treatment plans, supervise OT staff and students, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate discharge planning to support home modification needs and ongoing recovery in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Active Texas OT license and CPR certification are required.
• Experience supervising OT staff and students is preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans for assigned patients using physician orders.
• Establish functional goals aligned with patient and discharge plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants and OT students regularly.
• Educate patients and caregivers on OT services, procedures, and goals.
• Prepare for client discharge with education, home modifications, and equipment needs.
• Maintain knowledge of OT Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans for assigned patients utilizing in-depth evaluation and physician orders
• Establish realistic, objective functional goals based on patient/caregiver goals and overall discharge plan
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, OT students, and OTA students on a routine basis
• Educate patients/caregivers on occupational therapy services, treatment procedures, and treatment goals
• Prepare for client discharge in a timely, thorough manner, including patient/caregiver education, home visit, recommendations for home modifications and equipment needs, and procurement of recommended equipment
• Maintain a working knowledge of and adherence to Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution or B.S./M.S. degree in related field with an Occupational Therapy certification from an accredited institution
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas required
• Current CPR certification required
• Must pass all pre-employment and employment verifications
