Job summary

Pittsburgh Tomorrow is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide advanced clinical OT services within a rehabilitation setting. You will assess, treat, and adjust plans for patients referred to both contracted and non-contracted facilities.

You will coordinate with physicians and the health care team, supervise students, and ensure proper documentation and licensing compliance. This role emphasizes patient education and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACOTE-accredited OT program.
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation for all occupational therapy services, including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
• Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
• Communicate patient's status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
• Complete charge and statistical information to reflect services rendered.
• Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
• Provide verbal/written home instructions to patients and/or family members.
• Supervise clinical education programs for students from various universities.
• Maintain professional license through continuing education and professional development.
• Perform and supervise occupational therapy assessments, treatments, and plan adjustments.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs

Job description

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
