Job summary

HealthPro Heritage in Riverdale, NY is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide compassionate therapy to older adults in a retirement community setting.

You will assess, treat, educate and advocate for clients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize daily living and functional independence.

This role offers competitive benefits and a starting rate of $50 per hour, with compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or license eligible.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Proficient in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to lift and assist patients as needed and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
• Create personalized treatment plans and educate clients and families on daily activities and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Advocate for clients' needs and support them in accessing community resources, services, and accommodations.
