Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in New Mexico is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, design care plans, and oversee therapy services. The role offers flexible scheduling and no required weekend work.

You will document progress, educate patients and families, and assist with safe discharge planning while supervising therapy assistants in compliance with licensing laws.

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico Occupational Therapist license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills.
• Design appropriate plans of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
• Monitor and modify plans of care as needed, seeking consultation when necessary.
• Educate patients and their families or caregivers about deficits.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings, providing information regarding adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must have a current New Mexico Occupational Therapist license and a bachelor's degree. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
