Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a PRN role with flexible scheduling. The position emphasizes providing compassionate care to our communities.

Candidates must hold a New Mexico OT license and a bachelor’s degree; BLS within 30 days. This role involves patient assessment, planning and discharge, documentation, and supervision of OT assistants. No weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico Occupational Therapist license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s ability to perform occupational skills and design the plan of care.
• Document progress, monitor and modify the plan, and seek consultation as needed.
• Educate patient and family about deficits.
• Plan or assist with discharge from therapy and advise on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care by assistants within licensing laws and standards.

Schedule: this is a PRN role that offers quite a bit of schedule flexibility! This role will not work weekends and shift start and end times are flexible.

How you'll contribute

• Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
