Job summary

Inova Health is seeking Occupational Therapists to join our hospitals across Northern Virginia. We have openings for Full-time, Part-time and PRN, Day Shift, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays. We offer a 1:1 patient treatment model, mentorship program and a commitment to continuing education and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Virginia license as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment and treatment summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff and care team members.
• Provides educational materials appropriate to patients' understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates skill competencies in treatment modalities and protocols; performs re-evaluations as needed.
• Assumes responsibility over OT patient management from initial contact to discharge for functional progress and safety.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Assumes complete responsibility over the course of Occupational Therapy patient management from the time of initial contact to discharge for functional progress, safety and treatment outcomes.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Licensure: Occupational Therapist Virginia license
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
