Job summary

The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation & Healing Center in Elmhurst, NY is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our growing clinical team. You will assess referred patients, establish and administer treatment plans, and educate patients and families while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include documenting patient progress, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supervising OT Assistants as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OT program with state licensure.
• Valid OT license and registration for the applicable state.
• Experience supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience in long-term or geriatric care is preferred.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Experience completing evaluations, progress notes, re-certifications and discharge documentation.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent patient service and clinical excellence.
• Punctual, professional and compliant with confidentiality and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients for rehabilitation needs and provide direct OT care.
• Develop and administer treatment plans with goals based on patient capacity.
• Document patient status, progress, and outcome measures accurately.
• Educate patients and families on therapy methods and expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines to optimize care.
• Oversee and supervise OT Assistants as applicable.

The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation & Healing Center is looking for a talented and hard-working Occupational Therapist to join our ever-growing team.

Responsibilities Include:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Occupational Therapist will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Occupational Therapist must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patients condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate therapy method.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist college or university.
• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• The Occupational Therapist is responsible for overseeing and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Evaluations, weekly progress notes, re-certification and discharge documentations.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation
• Compliance with confidentiality, HIPPA and Federal Residents Rights.

Rate: 37-45 an hour
