Job summary

HealthPro Heritage in Dix Hills, NY is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our therapist-led, diverse organization. You will provide skilled assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and educate patients and families to improve daily living activities.

No evenings or weekends; M-F schedule in nursing facilities, retirement communities, hospitals, home care and clinics. Requirements include a degree in Occupational Therapy, valid state licensure or eligibility, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or license eligible
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Evaluate clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
• Treatment and Education: Create personalized treatment plans to meet clients' goals and educate clients and their families on improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Advocacy and Support: Advocate for clients' needs and support them in accessing community resources, services, and accommodations.
