Job summary

Career Links is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a school-based team serving students across educational settings in Oregon. The role provides OT services to improve participation and independence in academics, social, and functional tasks.

The OT collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate needs, develop intervention plans, and implement evidence-based services in the least restrictive environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Oregon OT License issued by the Oregon OT Licensing Board or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Successful completion of the NBCOT examination or eligibility for Oregon licensure through endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred through special education, 504, or other educational support programs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized OT intervention plans.
  • Participate in development and implementation of IEPs, IFSPs, and Section 504 Plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student achievement.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, environmental modifications, and accommodations.
  • Provide direct and consultative OT services in classrooms and therapy spaces.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and district initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA and applicable Oregon regulations.

Occupational Therapist (OT) - School-Based

2026-2027 School Year |Full-Time | $45.00-$65.00 per hour (DOE)

Career Links is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a school-based team supporting students across educational settings. This role provides occupational therapy services that enable students to access their educational environment, participate in school activities, and achieve greater independence in academic, social, and functional tasks.

The Occupational Therapist collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate student needs, develop intervention plans, and implement evidence-based services that support student success within the least restrictive environment.

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred through special education, early intervention, Section 504, or other educational support programs.
  • Identify barriers and supports impacting student participation and access to educational activities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy intervention plans.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and Section 504 Plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student achievement and functional participation.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, environmental modifications, and accommodations as appropriate.
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services in classrooms, therapy spaces, and other educational environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, service logs, and evaluation reports in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on educational needs and outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, professional development activities, and district initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and applicable Oregon regulations governing school-based occupational therapy services.
Qualifications
Required
  • Master's Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Current Oregon Occupational Therapist License issued by the Oregon Occupational Therapy Licensing Board (OTLB) or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Successful completion of the NBCOT examination or eligibility for Oregon licensure through endorsement.
Preferred
  • Previous experience providing occupational therapy services in a school setting.
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, orthopedic impairments, and other disabilities.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and educational accommodations.
  • Experience participating in IEP development and educational evaluations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, position, transfer, and assist students as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout school environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to utilize technology and electronic documentation systems.
