Job summary

Middletown Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare, a 230-bed skilled nursing facility, is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) in New York. You will plan, develop, and implement OT services to support residents' highest level of well-being, under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation and the Administrator.

Requirements include current NY OT license and malpractice insurance, and a compassionate, team-focused approach. We offer excellent benefits and a competitive hourly wage of $45–$52/hr.

• Must possess current malpractice insurance and license in good standing.
• Dedicated to providing compassionate care as an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and implement OT services per standards to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Plan and implement OT programs to improve residents' physical, mental, and social well-being.
• Instruct on therapy policies to residents, families, and staff as necessary.
• Participate in discharge planning and care plan development.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and maintain records.

Description

• Occupational Therapist, OT is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Rehabilitation and/or the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times
• Occupational Therapist, OT must possess the ability to plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy program to help residents obtain/maintain their highest level of physical, mental and social well-being.
• Occupational Therapist, OT will Interpret and/or instruct in physical therapy policies and procedure to personnel, residents, family members, etc. as necessary.
• Occupational Therapist, OT will participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments (MDS), etc. as necessary
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as required.
• Maintain treatment records, resident files, and progress notes as required and maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents

Requirements

• Must possess a current license and registration to practice as a Occupational Therapist, OT in the State of NY.
• Must possess current malpractice insurance, license in good standing

• Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, & sometimes challenging residents
