Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist with NICU/infant experience to support pediatric development and feeding. The role includes 32 hours per week across four eight-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday coverage starting in 2027.

Benefits eligible and emphasis on collaborative care with families. The OT professional will evaluate and treat pediatric patients, coordinate discharge planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize functional outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • OT licensure in Missouri required.
  • No prior experience required.

  • Establish and implement pediatric OT treatment plans, considering discharge needs and necessary equipment.
  • Educate and collaborate with patients, families, and other health care providers; refer to specialists as needed.
  • Delegate to assistants and students with appropriate supervision and skill level assessment.
  • Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Provide assessment, reassessment, and/or consultations for Occupational Therapy Services.

Role Purpose

The licensed or registered Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled occupational therapy services to patients including all aspects of evaluation and treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Establish treatment plan and provide treatment, considering discharge needs; expected discharge functional status; and appropriate equipment and supplies.
  • Educate, collaborate with, and confer with patients, families, and other health care providers, making recommendations for referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Delegate to assistants, techs, and students through written and verbal communication, including determining the skill level or competency required to provide interventions to best meet the needs of the patient.
  • Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Provide assessment, reassessment, and/or consultations for Occupational Therapy Services.
