Job summary

Rivetus Rehabilitation in Ohio is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess and treat patients recovering in skilled nursing facilities. You will develop individualized care plans, supervise OTAs and aides, document care, and participate in CQI activities, while adhering to clinical standards.

The position requires travel to facilities around the Columbus area, with a full-time Monday–Friday schedule within the geriatric Post‑Acute setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited OT program.
• Licensure as required by the State of Ohio.
• Ability to supervise OTAs and aides.

Responsibilities

Facility Location

3399 Mill Run Drive, Hilliard, OH 43026. The OT Local Traveler reports to the Director of Therapy in Dublin, OH. You are expected to travel to the facilities in and around the Columbus, OH region.

Schedule

Full‑Time, Monday‑Friday.

General Summary

In this role you will provide occupational therapy services to patients impaired by physical and/or cognitive dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plans. You participate in patient care conferences, program development, and screenings as appropriate. You provide supervision for OTAs and aides as assigned, complete appropriate documentation, and adhere to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy screenings and evaluations to determine patient independence with activities of daily living, including self‑care skills, work and leisure.
• Provide occupational therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the AOTA for an Occupational Therapist.
• Develop and implement treatment plans using adaptations, strengthening and retraining to reach patients’ highest potential for independence, adhering to professional standards of practice.
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with productivity standards by use of graded activities to facilitate the restoration of physical and functional abilities.
• Check, instruct, assign and review the work of OTAs and aides as assigned.
• Document to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines.
• Participate in patient care conferences and CQI activities as required.
• Promote current standards of clinical practice through participation in continuing education and in‑service programs.
• Coordinate and/or participate in in‑service programs for internal or external groups.
• Develop new program initiatives as requested.
• Assist in other departmental operations as directed.
• Attend company meetings as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Licensure as required by the State of Ohio.

• Physical ability to bend, position, transfer and lift patients weighing from 80 pounds to over 300 pounds, without restriction, using recommended lifting devices.
