Loma Linda University Health in California is seeking an Occupational Therapist-Inpatient to provide patient care including evaluations, goal setting, and treatment planning within our inpatient unit. The role includes supervising staff as assigned and coordinating with the Medical Therapy Program (MTP) to ensure seamless discharge planning.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited OT program and a California license; Current BLS certification is required.

The Occupational Therapist-Inpatient (Inpt) provides patient care including evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, family training and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with designated practice act and department policy and procedure. Supervises non California Children's Services (CCS)-paneled staff as assigned. Attend discharge rounds for kids with therapy needs, involved in helping to coordinate services with the Medical Therapy Program (MTP). Performs other duties as needed.
Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program required. Suitable combination of education, training or experience along with a California license in Occupational Therapy is acceptable. No experience required.
Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment build or create treatment equipment as needed. Recognizes safety problems and corrects them. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
Currently licensed by California Board of Occupational Therapy required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
