Medical City Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an acute inpatient rehab unit. The role involves evaluating patients, delivering evidence-based therapy, and collaborating with physicians and the care team to support recovery and independence.

You will educate patients and families, monitor progress, and ensure quality documentation while upholding the organization’s mission and standards.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Experience in inpatient rehab or acute care environments is preferred.
• OTR (Occupational Therapist Registered) or OT credential required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and design individualized therapy plans with physicians and the care team.
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed; ensure timely documentation.
• Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement throughout recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe transitions of care and excellent patient experiences.
• Lead by example, guiding therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare values.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelors Degree
