Job description

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI), named Best Rehabilitation Hospital in Indiana in 2022 and 2023, provides quality rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illness. We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions.

SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapist (Inpatient) - PRN is responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy services for an inpatient and/or outpatient population from age 15 and older, including, but not limited to, evaluations, evidence-based intervention, equipment recommendations, and modality application under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician provider.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administers OT evaluations to inpatients and/or outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age specific needs and issues for physical medicine rehabilitation population.
  • Develops a patient-centered treatment plan based upon the evaluation, patient goals, and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and function.
  • Responsible for assuring the treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
  • Accurately completes documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines to ensure a complete medical record that supports skilled services and appropriate medical necessity.
  • Provides clinical supervision, including but not limited to coordination of care and delegation of duties, to assistants, techs, and students according to state/federal regulations and hospital guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess an Occupational Therapy Degree from an accredited program.
  • Must be registered/certified by National Board for Certification of OTs
  • Occupational Therapist IN state license required.
  • Must have current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of start date.
  • 1-year experience with adult physical rehabilitation preferred
