Location: North West England, North East England and Yorkshire

Salary: £37,800 – £39,500

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

Overview

Are you a Registered Occupational Therapist seeking a new challenge, flexible working and professional development opportunities? Join Maximus as an Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor to help understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders, with a tailored training programme to help you thrive.

The role begins with 6 weeks of training before assessing customers, with ongoing support and mentorship in your role.

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life
• Produce reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person’s eligibility for benefits
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision

Requirements

• Valid HCPC registration number
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience gained within or outside of the NHS
• You MUST have the right to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorships
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
