Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist II to develop and deliver pediatric OT services by assessment, program planning and treatment. The role includes supervising OT personnel and instructing interns within CHLA’s inpatient and outpatient settings.
The candidate should have pediatric hospital experience, with dysphagia/feeding experience preferred, and hold CA OT licensure or NBCOT with permit. BLS CPR is required.
Per Diem
The Occupational Therapist II develops and delivers occupational therapy services to patients specific to age and developmental level by assessment, program planning, provision of treatment. Provides functional supervision to occupational therapy personnel assisting in patient treatment. Provides instruction to assigned occupational therapy interns on clinical observations and affiliations. The Occupational Therapy department is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in inpatient, the acute rehab unit, outpatient and multidisciplinary clinics. Per Diem OT’s will participate in the evaluation and treatment of patients in the inpatient acute, acute rehab unit and outpatient unit as needed.
1+ year full time experience as an OT I, or equivalent, treating pediatric patients. Experience with pediatrics and hospital based experience preferred. Dysphagia/feeding experience preferred. Broad knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices and CHLA patient care policies and procedures.
Graduation from an approved School of Occupational Therapy (Masters degree preferred). Licensure by the California Board of Occupational Therapy; or successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy examination and current holder of limited permit issued by California Board of Occupational Therapy. Current American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider CPR certification.
