Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Occupational Therapist I to assess patients and develop the therapy plan of care. You will educate patients and families and collaborate with the interprofessional care team to achieve patient goals in a safe, service-focused environment.

Responsibilities include completing evaluations, implementing treatment plans, communicating progress, and promoting quality and safety in patient care within the department.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to safely perform assigned duties and operate rehab equipment.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently for patient safety.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
• Collaborates with interprofessional care team to achieve patient goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations to determine function and plan of care.
• Deliver education to patients and family members; assess understanding.”
