Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to provide patient therapy, education, and adaptive equipment coordination. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and documenting progress in compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited OT program.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Michigan.
• Current OTR certification (NBCOT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CPR training.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Hand Therapist, Certified (CHT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation procedures to assess disability level and create a plan of care.
• Implements a treatment program to restore maximal function for the patient.
• Assesses effectiveness and updates goals and treatment methods as needed.
• Documents evaluation and treatment in compliance with standards and reimbursement procedures.
• Instructs and trains other rehab staff, nursing, and students regarding patient needs.
• Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, and program development.
• Demonstrates productivity per department standards.
• Develops skills through CEUs and competencies, expanding patient care capabilities.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited occupational therapy program

State of Michigan Occupational Therapist license

NBCOT OTR certification

BLS Certification (AHA/Red Cross)

Master's degree (preferred)

Hand Therapist, Certified (CHT)

Job Summary

Provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. Provides patient/caregiver education and arranges for adaptive equipment as needed.

Essential Functions

• Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability with regard to scope of practice, goals and a plan of treatment, and to make appropriate recommendations.
• Provides a treatment program and education to restore and return maximal function to the patient.
• Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals / treatment methods, as needed to meet changing needs.
• Documents evaluation and treatment of each patient in compliance with department standards, medical-legal and reimbursement procedures.
• Instructs and trains other rehabilitation staff, nursing, other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives/improvement, program development and marketing activities.
• Demonstrates productivity as indicated by department standard.
• Improves skill areas as demonstrated by applying continuing education in-services, participating in competencies in applicable areas, and developing new concepts of patient care and additional skills with various population groups.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Occupational Therapist - State of Michigan.
• Upon Hire Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Upon Hire Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association 90 Days Or Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Red Cross 90 Days.
• Preferred: Master's Degree.
• Hand Therapist, Certified (CHT) - Hand Therapy Certification Commission Hand Therapy Program Upon Hire.
