Job summary

Iredell Memorial Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide evaluations and therapy services as prescribed by physicians to improve patient independence. This role emphasizes independent practice under the Rehab Director, with treatment programs tailored to rehabilitation goals and safety.

Schedule: Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Fri 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. Licensure in NC and CPR certification are required; home health experience is preferred, with at least one year in a health care facility.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in NC as an Occupational Therapist or eligibility.
• CPR certification required; if not certified, obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Competency-based orientation covering age and population needs for the area of practice.
• IHH - Current licensure in North Carolina as an Occupational Therapist.
• Home Health experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations and therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician.
• Develop and administer occupational therapy treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation and maximize function.
• Adhere to agency policies, procedures, standards of practice, and regulatory guidelines.

Rehab - Works independently to provide occupational therapy evaluations and therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, consistent with agency policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Rehab Director of Iredell Memorial Hospital. Develops and administers occupational therapy treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients and to maximize function and independence.

Rehab - Works independently to provide occupational therapy evaluations and therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, consistent with agency policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Rehab Director of Iredell Memorial Hospital. Develops and administers occupational therapy treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients and to maximize function and independence.

IHH - Works independently to provide occupational therapy evaluations and therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, consistent with agency policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Executive Director and Team Coordinator. Develops and administers occupational therapy treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients and to maximize function and independence.

Requirements

• Rehab - Current licensure in NC as an Occupational Therapist or state licensure examination eligible.
• CPR certification required. If not currently certified, must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Successful completion of a competency based orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the OT will be working, and addresses the growth and development needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• IHH - Current licensure in North Carolina as an Occupational Therapist.
• Home Health experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a health care facility

Physical Requirements

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
