Job summary

Thalia Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence and improve function.

You will work with a resident-centered, multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, document progress, and support families with therapies and safety strategies. This role offers flexible Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and valid Occupational Therapist license/registration in the state of practice.
• Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Long-term care and/or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate referred residents and determine their rehabilitation needs.
• Assess medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations, restrictions, and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on residents’ needs.
• Establish measurable therapeutic goals.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy services per physician orders.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust approaches as needed.
• Educate residents and families on therapy techniques and safety.
• Complete evaluations, weekly progress notes, re-certifications, discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and rehabilitation staff for coordinated care.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
