IU Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for PRN weekend coverage at West Hospital in Avon, IN. The role focuses on treating physical and psychological dysfunctions and providing direct patient care.

Candidates must hold a Master's in Occupational Therapy, be licensed in Indiana, and have BLS. NBCOT certification is preferred; ALS may be required by unit. The department emphasizes teamwork and education.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; foreign-trained with equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• NBCOT certification preferred.
• Current Indiana license required.
• BLS certification through the AHA required.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Responsabilités

• Provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions.
• Provides direct patient care using sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities to help patients regain physical or mental functioning.
• Willingly supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students.
• Participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

Location:

West Hospital in Avon, IN

Shift:

PRN, one weekend day per month with sporadic weekday availability

Requirements:

• Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy; or, if foreign trained, graduation from an occupational therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions. Provides direct patient care using a variety of sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. Appropriately supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
