Job summary

IU Health is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for PRN coverage at North Hospital in Carmel, IN. You will provide OT services to help patients regain physical or mental functioning through sensorimotor, functional, and educational activities.

Role includes supervising OT assistants and students, collaborating with the care team, and contributing to department operations. A Master’s in OT is required, Indiana licensure, and BLS; NBCOT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy is required.
• Current licensure in the State of Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; NBCOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions using sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Supervise occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students.
• Participate in activities to support patient care, education and department operations.

Location:

North Hospital in Carmel, IN

Shift:

PRN, one Saturday per month with 2-3 weekday coverage as needed

Requirements:

• Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy; or, if foreign trained, graduation from an occupational therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions. Provides direct patient care using a variety of sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. Appropriately supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
