Job summary

Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-centered therapy in a warm, collaborative setting.

You’ll assess residents, develop and refine treatment plans, supervise assistants, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You’ll work with an interdisciplinary team to maximize independence and safety, communicate clearly with residents and families, and stay current with best practices through continuing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Valid state Occupational Therapist license, where applicable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation.
• Optimize patient functionality by providing, directing, and/or overseeing occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, and treatment.
• Comply with state and federal guidelines related to accurate and timely documentation and billing.
• Establish and maintain effective, patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary team members, and facility staff.
• Refer patients for treatment to occupational therapy assistants and provide consultation and clinical supervision.
• Directly supervise occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Participate in utilization review, care conferences, case management, and interdisciplinary team activities.
• Develop and enhance occupational therapy programs, techniques, and services to support quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and patient rights policies.
• Enhance clinical expertise through continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain valid state licensure.
• Understand and apply relevant payment models and treatment guidelines. Maintain confidentiality of organizational, facility, and patient information.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical, legal, and professional manner at all times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
