Job summary

The Occupational Therapist at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is responsible for utilizing purposeful activities or interventions to achieve functional outcomes, maximizing the independence and maintenance of health of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or a learning disability, or an adverse environmental condition.

Qualifications

• Annual Orthopedic education requirements must be completed upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education plan.
• FL OT license required: Florida Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient, identifying the level of acuity of illness.
• Plan the patient’s treatment program and implement/direct the program.
• Utilize purposeful activities or interventions to maximize independence and health.
