YAI - Seeing beyond disability in Manhattan is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Education Services to support students with documented therapy goals within IEP frameworks. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, teachers, and healthcare professionals to optimize participation in academics, play, and self-care.

The ideal candidate holds a NYSED OT license, brings organizational strength, and can implement evidence-based interventions.

## Occupational Therapist- Education ServicesApplylocations: Manhattantime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R025422If you are a current YAI employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.**Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities*** Provides occupational therapy-based services to assigned caseload consistent with students’ documented therapy goals, including those defined in areas of instructional and therapeutic focus and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP).* Develops and implements safe and appropriate therapeutic interventions.* Provides assessment, mandate recommendations, and intervention in related school-based areas of occupation (participation in academics, play/leisure, vocational, and self-care skills) and appropriately documents or updates annual therapy goals for students, as needed.* Evaluates, documents and monitors provision of service and student progress in a timely manner in line with policies of organization, governing bodies and in language comprehensible to caregivers.* Regularly communicates and collaborates with parents, school staff across all disciplines and medical professionals regarding health, equipment use, participation in activities, positioning, feeding and other relevant factors, as needed.* Fabricates, maintains, modifies and monitors use of adaptive equipment and orthotics and trains school staff regarding interventions involving AT or other equipment.* Assists with assessments related to assistive technology (AT) and/or durable medical equipment (DME) needs, including participation in clinics, documenting medical necessity, obtaining measurements, working with providers, facilitating orders, coordinating with vendors for delivery, fittings, etc. as needed.* Attends and participates in scheduled supervision, department meetings and activities.* Responsible for maintaining office and therapy room organization.* Performs all other duties, as assigned.**Minimum Qualification Requirements** ***including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)**** Valid license and current registration as an Occupational Therapist issued by the NYS Department of Education (NYSED); and* Must be well organized with superior attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.* Work with a great degree of self-direction and focus.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word and PowerPoint.**Preferred Qualification Requirements** ***(desired requirements beyond MQRs above)**** Two (2) years of relevant experience in occupational therapy working with school-aged children with significant disabilities.**Compensation & Benefits:*** $75,000 annually to $85,000 annually* Tuition reimbursement* Medical and dental insurance (with options for family and more extensive medical plans, as well as vision)* Paid Time Off and School Holidays* 403(b) retirement with employer match* Life insurance and long-term disabilityAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or status as a Vietnam or disabled veteran.
