Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a contingent, outpatient role in Michigan. The position is part-time and focuses on pediatric caseloads while also addressing neurologic and hand therapy needs.

You will perform comprehensive evaluations and deliver OT services in a collaborative clinical setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, discharge coordination, documentation, and education of patients and staff.

Qualifications

• OT bachelor degree from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Current State of Michigan licensure.
• Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Performs OT evaluation and uses treatments to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of patients.
• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to a primarily pediatric caseload, while also treating clients with neurological, orthopedic, and hand therapy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and collaboration with other health care providers.
• Documents patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards.
• Communicates with co-workers, and other professionals, including physicians and nurses as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
• Functions as a team member in care of patients and in mentoring with other staff.
• Delegates aspects of patient care to support staff per OT/OTA MI Licensure Administrative Rules providing necessary communication and supervision.
• Maintains clinical productivity standards.
• Maintains technical clinical expertise through ongoing clinical education.
• Participates in in-services, staff meetings, quality activities and aspects of program development.
• Maintains awareness of patient safety issues within the clinic and in the use of equipment. Assists in the maintenance of patient care equipment as needed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality according to HFHS HIPAA policies.
• Maintains adherence to all applicable Federal/State law/regulations, AOTA standards of practice, MI Licensure requirements, the HFHS Integrity/ Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, as well as all other HFHS policies and procedures.
• If requested, represents HFHS at community and professional functions.
• Participates in student education programs
• May have other duties assigned asneeded.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Occupational Therapy bachelor degree acquired from an Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) accredited program.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current State of Michigan licensure
• Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
