Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients in an acute care setting. The role requires CA OT licensure (or eligibility), and a background in acute care therapy with strong collaboration across care teams.

The position emphasizes delivering high-quality patient care, adherence to licensing standards, and participation in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• One year of OT experience in an acute care facility preferred.
• Current certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current California OT License OR license eligibility before first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct and administer OT modalities prescribed by a licensed physician.
• Collaborate with care teams to implement OT plans and goals.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy as needed.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with CA OT licensing requirements.
• Ensure patient safety and apply appropriate patient education.

Position Description:

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities prescribed by a licensed physician.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• One (1) year experience as an occupational therapist in acute care facility preferred.
• Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum with a Bachelors or Masters degree with certification in occupational therapy.
• Current California Occupational Therapy License OR License eligibility letter prior to the first day of employment.
• If CA OT License Eligibility Letter recipient with a Limited Permit: licensing exam must be passed within (90) days from letter date.
• BLS (AHA) current certification
