About the Role
Memorial Hermann is excited to announce an opportunity for a Certified Hand Therapist to join our advanced Willis SMR Clinic, set to open in May 2025. This position offers the unique chance to collaborate with renowned hand surgeons, engage with a team of skilled Certified Hand Therapists, and pursue professional growth through our AOTA-accredited Hand Fellowship Program.
This role involves working at both the new Willis Clinic and The Woodlands Rockets Orthopedics Hospital.
Please Note: Applicants must hold current certification as a Certified Hand Therapist. We are not accepting candidates who are awaiting certification.
Sign-On Bonus: Qualified candidates will receive a $2,800 sign-on bonus upon acceptance of the offer and meeting eligibility criteria.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
Licenses/Certifications
Active Texas license to practice Occupational Therapy (Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners).
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Advanced education or clinical specialty certification is preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
Ability to lift 75–100 lbs occasionally and carry up to 30 lbs.
Prolonged standing; frequent walking, squatting, and stooping.
Strong fine motor skills, visual acuity, and communication abilities (oral and written).
Proficiency with monitoring equipment and recognizing alphanumeric displays and color variations.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients with a physician’s referral and design individualized plans of care.
Deliver specialized occupational therapy treatments, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Educate and motivate patients and caregivers throughout the rehabilitation process.
Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance providers.
Maintain thorough and timely documentation in medical records.
Supervise therapy assistants and support staff; promote a collaborative environment.
Mentor students and staff; participate in outreach and professional education efforts.
Develop, lead, and support departmental and facility-wide projects and strategic initiatives.
Contribute to departmental planning, budgeting, policy development, and marketing.
Lead or serve on committees, taskforces, and community engagement programs.
Promote professional development through continuing education, certification, research, or committee service.

Compensation:
$79,040 per year
