Job summary

Akron Children's in Belpre, OH is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 40-hour work week and daytime shifts.

The role requires NBCOT certification and Ohio licensure, plus 3–5 years of relevant experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available. Collaboration with families and care teams is essential, and MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS, MS, or Doctoral).
• National Board Certification in OT (NBCOT) and Ohio licensure required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with diverse disabilities.
• Communicate with patients, families and team members.
• Document and educate patients and families per protocols.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers or students per OT rules.
• Perform other duties as required.

Summary

The Occupational Therapist utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate/assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.

Responsibilities

• 1. Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• 2. Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
• 3. Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education, per division protocols.
• 4. Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
• 5. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• 1. Experience in occupational therapy is required.
• 2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• 3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• 4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• 1. Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• 2. Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
• 3. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
• 4. Years of experience supervising: None.
