Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities. The role is onsite in Massillon, OH, with 24 hours per week across daytime shifts.

The ideal candidate will have an OT degree, Ohio licensure and NBCOT certification, with 3–5 years of experience. Strong documentation and communication skills, plus proficiency in MS Office, are required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's preferred.
• Certification: NBCOT and Ohio state licensure required.
• Experience: 3–5 years in related OT field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with diverse disabilities.
• Communicate with patients, families and team members.
• Document and educate patients and families appropriately.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers or students as per OT regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
• Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education.
• Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in occupational therapy is required.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
• Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None.
