Job summary

Palm Springs Healthcare Center is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). You will administer treatments for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, perform tests for strength and range of motion, and provide direct clinical care per an established plan.

You will join an interdisciplinary team, assist patients with adaptive tools, maintain patient records securely, and participate in home assessments to support safe discharge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current California OTA license.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Measures strength, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory function.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Performs home assessments to support safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
