Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) ‐ School

Start Date: 8/11/2025 | Available Shifts: 7.5 D | Pay Rate: $1776.69 ‐ $1946.80

AMN Healthcare is partnering with a Hemet, CA school district to hire a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work with children of all ages. The COTA will address motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions impacting academics, self‐care, play, social participation, and transitional skills.

Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with the district as part of a collaborative team to help students achieve their academic goals.
  2. Screen and evaluate students referred to Occupational Therapy services, collect data, and report findings.
  3. Provide evidence‐based direct and consultative therapy services.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation and billing per district and state standards.
  5. Provide training and resources for teachers and staff on strategies to improve participation and progress towards educational goals.
  6. Participate in a collaborative team and communicate clearly with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student performance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, School Licenses: OTA‐CA
  • Completion of an associate's degree or higher education
  • Active COTA license in CA
  • (Some States) Completion of the Substantial Equivalency Assessment (SEA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Clear, articulate communication skills
  • Ability to explain results to varied audiences
  • Previous school experience is a plus
  • Completion of criminal record and background checks
