What You Will Do

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will work alongside Occupational Therapists to guide residents through recovery, administering occupational therapy through everyday activities. Your role is vital in providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation related to treatment services, including billing, physician orders, screenings, ROM, care plans, etc.
• Assist in testing and measuring patients' strength, ROM, ADL performance, motor development, sensory perception, and other functional assessments.
• Administer objective tests and assessments, adjusting treatments for optimal benefit.
• Utilize techniques and activities to improve muscle strength, independence, safety, motor coordination, mobility, and daily living skills.
• Instruct and motivate patients in physical activities, use of assistive devices, and support for daily tasks.
• Educate patients and families about progress and injury prevention.

Qualifications

• State-issued Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience with diverse patient populations in healthcare settings.
• Experience with infection control practices is preferred.
• Experience with Rehab Optima is preferred.
