The Occupational Therapy Assistant in Home Health is responsible for providing occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability. The Occupational Therapy Assistant performs duties in accordance with policies, procedures, and the established plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing occupational therapy in home care, adhering to treatment plans set by the supervising OT.
• Implement the plan of care, instruct, and assist patients within your scope and according to state laws.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and changes to the supervising OT, nurse, or physician. Coordinate care with the healthcare team as needed.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members about therapy within your scope.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current OTA licensure in Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
