We are hiring a PRN COTA for Home Visits in Key West.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant in Home Health is responsible for providing occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability. The Occupational Therapy Assistant performs duties in accordance with policies, procedures, and the established plan of care.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions.

  • Providing services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, using evidence-based techniques, and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluating the patient's functional status and all relevant body systems for CMS documentation; consulting with the physician for developing the therapy plan of care.
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting patient responses to treatment and any changes in condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
  • Conducting patient assessments to evaluate functional ability using diagnostic and prognostic tests.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

  • Current OTA licensure in Florida
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
