Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
- Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).
SNF experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
- Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
- Document patient’s participation and progress accurately and timely, with co-signature of the OTR.
- Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications, and discharges.
- Assist with documentation requirements as per state guidelines.
- Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
- Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in scheduling patients as indicated.
- Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately.
- Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
- Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
- Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, staff, patients, and families.
- Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services.
- Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
- Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image.
- Adhere to productivity requirements and submit reports timely.
- Foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and managers.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisors.
- Follow HR policies regarding lunch, sick, and time off.
- Adhere to all other facility policies and procedures.
