McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the clinical team under the supervision of the occupational therapist. You will implement components of the plan of care and help patients engage in meaningful activities.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program, current State Board licensure, and preferably one year of OTA experience. Daily duties include adapting interventions to patient progress and promoting safety and independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.
• One year of occupational therapist assistant experience (preferred).

Works under the direction and supervision of the occupational therapist. The occupational therapist assistant implements selected components of the therapeutic interventions and activities of daily living, obtains data related to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient as directed by the occupational therapist or to ensure patient’s safety and comfort. This may include adaptation or modification of the environment or objects within the environment to facilitate engagement and participation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Implements the individualized plan of care as established by the occupational therapist.
• Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes in plan of care and communicates with supervising occupational therapist.
• Assists the occupational therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughout treatment.

Required

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.

Preferred

• One year of occupational therapist assistant experience.
