Job summary

Taylor Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our dedicated rehab team, supporting a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics. Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, with a day shift, and a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program, an active KY OTA license, and BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides treatment based on therapy knowledge for various age groups including neonates to geriatrics.
• Demonstrates proficiency with equipment and proper body mechanics to perform essential functions.
• Monitors and re-evaluates patient responses to treatment and adapts care accordingly.
• Maintains professional communication and collaborates with the treatment team.
• Educates patients, families and staff; communicates treatment plans clearly.

Position: Occupational Therapist Assistant

Location: 100 Medical Park Dr, Suite B- across from Taylor Regional Hospital, Kentucky

Schedule: Fulltime- Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

What You’ll Do

• Provides treatment based on tested knowledge of therapy and treatments related to age specific requirements of neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of equipment utilized and demonstrates of equipment utilized and demonstrates proper body mechanics in order to perform essential functions of the job.
• Monitors and re-evaluates patients response to treatment demonstrating adaptability to varying functional status.
• Demonstrates high level of professional competence in the delivery of services as demonstrated by the clinical outcomes. Articulates with tact and diplomacy in all communications.
• Provides teaching of patient family and staff according to level of learner using appropriate methods. Establishes and maintains effective working relations with patient and family, other members of treatment team, supervisor and administrative personnel.
• Effectively progresses the treatment environment to functional setting to ensure carry over of learned skills.
• Communicates written info that is organized, concise, accurate and appropriate to level of reader. Communicates patient status in timely written/verbal communications to physicians and others. Provides treatment plan clearly to patient/family.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA requirements when accessing, discussing, or documenting protected health information.
• Actively participates in department/programmatic meetings expressing concerns and ideas. Provides inter and intra departmental in-services as required/requested. Assesses own strength and weaknesses and assists in developing action plan to improve.

What We’re Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Valid KY OTA license

BLS required through American Heart Association- renewals are included with TRH employment.

Job Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and assist patients with mobility and functional activities.
• Ability to safely assist with patient transfers and repositioning.
• Ability to maintain appropriate body mechanics and follow patient-handling safety procedures.
