Job summary

Fairview Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN is seeking an inpatient occupational therapist to join our acute care team. The OT will collaborate with an integrated multi-disciplinary group to deliver safe, evidence-based care across a wide range of diagnoses from admission through discharge.

This 0.75 FTE role includes a three-day workweek with weekend options, comprehensive benefits, professional development and mentorship, and opportunities for clinical specialization within Fairview's rehab

Qualifications

  • Minnesota OT license (or temporary) required
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • Preferred: M.A./M.S. in OT
  • Preferred: NBCOT certification

Responsibilities

  • Partner with patient and family during evaluation and re-evaluation
  • Gather pertinent data for assessment
  • Perform examinations and determine treatment diagnosis
  • Develop an individualized plan of care with patient and family
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team
  • Establish discharge plans and follow-up
  • Document thoroughly and bill appropriately
  • Meet productivity and quality improvement standards

Job Overview

We are seeking an inpatient occupational therapist to join our acute care team at Fairview Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury!

This position will be part of our inpatient adult acute care team - occupational therapists are part of an integrated team, and work with a wide range of diagnoses and conditions. In collaboration with patients and families, the OT is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. We are an outstanding multi-disciplinary team of therapists, nurses, physicians, care coordinators working together for patient outcomes!

  • FTE: 0.75 (60 hours per pay period).
  • Schedule: Three days per week and either every fourth weekend or two Saturdays per month, pending your preference.

Fairview Rehabilitation offers a range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities
  • The occupational therapist partners with the patient and family while performing the Evaluation/Re-evaluation
  • Gathers pertinent data
  • Performs examination
  • Determines treatment diagnosis
  • Develops an individualized plan of care through coordination with the patient and family
  • Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks
  • Determines prognosis for recovery
  • Establishes individualized goals with patient and/or caregiver
  • Individualizes plan of care considering developmental level and cultural differences
  • Implements and modifies plan of care based on reassessment and patient response
  • Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team for all aspects of patient care
  • Establishes appropriate discharge plan
  • Partners with patients and families to provide skilled intervention
  • Implements plan of care
  • Alters treatment/plan of care to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment
  • Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education
  • Documentation/Billing
  • Uses acceptable medical terminology
  • Follows professional practice standards
  • Completes documentation in a timely manner per department standards

Required Qualifications
  • Occupational Therapy License in the State of Minnesota or temporary license in State of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.A./M.S. in Occupational Therapy
  • 1+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy
  • 1+ years of experience in acute care
  • Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE).
