Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $58.00/hr

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Work with daily caseload of Children and Young Adults, ages 0-21 years old
• Provides occupational therapy services in accordance with the California Business and Professions Code, Occupational Therapy Practice Act, and consistent with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Standards of Practice for Occupational Therapy
• Evaluates, assesses, plans, develops and utilizes occupational therapy programs to meet the functional needs of patients
• California Children Services - Medical Therapy Program (CCS-MTP) therapists must participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and represent the Medical Therapy Program
• Maintains current and appropriate documentation
• Coordinates occupational therapy programs with patients, families, and/or caregivers and other team members/agencies involved in the care of assigned patients
• Applies, modifies and fabricates, as needed, specific static and dynamic splints and adaptive equipment to improve functional outcomes
• Sets functional goals for therapy in coordination with the prescribing physician, patient, caregiver and/or family
• Provides patient and family education to assist in the achievement of functional goals
• Participates in the maintenance of equipment and ordering adaptive equipment/supplies
• Clinically supervises COTAs/therapy aides, students and volunteers
• Assists in the educational process of students and new employees

Services are provided in Medical Therapy Units (MTU) in select public school sites. Services include:

• Medical Therapy Conferences to coordinate therapy needs.
• Occupational/physical therapy.
• Consultation for equipment needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of occupational therapy or proof of equivalency.
• Must obtain a certificate from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy within the probationary period.
• Must possess a current valid California Occupational Therapist license at time of hire and maintain it as a condition of continued employment.
• Possession of a valid California driver license and proof of auto insurance may be required.
• Possession of a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate by date of hire. Once obtained, it is a condition of continued employment.
• Live scan fingerprinting may be required for some positions

Schedule/Shift:

• Monday - Thursday: 7:30- 5 ; Friday: 8am - 12
