Job summary

Guidelight Health is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist for an onsite role in Worcester, MA. The position runs 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, two days per week, with potential to float to Brighton, Woburn, Waltham, or Quincy locations.

The OT will assess and treat clients with mental health conditions in a PHP setting, develop individualized plans, and work within an interdisciplinary team to support daily living and work-related skills. NBCOT certification and MA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification required.
• Experience in a mental health or partial hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival at the facility.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities related to mental health.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve daily living and work-related skills.
• Implement therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors for holistic care.
• Educate clients and families about mental health conditions and coping strategies.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provide OT techniques to help manage stress, anxiety, and depression.

Title: Per Diem Occupational Therapist

Reports To: Executive Director

Department/Location: 100% onsite position located at the Worcester, MA, Guidelight Clinic with opportunities to float to other sites (Brighton/Woburn/Waltham/Quincy!)

Hours: 12p-4p x 2 days/week

Setting: PHP

Role Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism upon arrival at the facility.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities related to their mental health conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to address clients’ specific needs, focusing on improving daily living skills, work-related skills, and overall quality of life.
• Implement therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices to help clients achieve their goals.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Monitor and document clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Provide support and guidance to clients in managing stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges through occupational therapy techniques.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy and mental health.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Experience in a mental health or partial hospital setting required
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
