Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of Waverly in Nebraska is seeking an Occupational Therapist to plan, organize, develop, and direct OT services to ensure high-quality resident care in our facility.

You will conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, document findings, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support residents’ goals. Active OT license and ongoing continuing education are required.

Qualifications

• OT degree and active license in the practicing state(s)
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and licensure maintenance
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Screen residents to identify best intervention plans
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with goals
• Communicate findings to residents, families, and care teams
• Coordinate therapy schedules with other professionals
• Document therapy sessions and ensure proper reimbursement practices
• Supervise COTA and ensure documented, compliant care
• Provide quality resident care with clinical excellence

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Education & Qualifications:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy
• MUST have an Active Occupational Therapy license in practicing state(s)
• Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification

Job Functions:

• Conduct regular screening of residents to figure out the best intervention or treatment for each individual patient
• Evaluate residents to inform and develop treatment plans; establish short- and long-term goals and methods to achieve goals
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with other team members
• Conduct therapy according to established treatment plan and ensure proper documentation and billing of occupational therapy services
• Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively treat patients
• Oversee COTA as needed and ensure all documentation and treatments are carried out with clinical excellence and proper reimbursement practices are being followed
