Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide hand therapy evaluations and treatments to maximize patient functioning as prescribed by a physician. The role requires adherence to safety and infection control protocols and engagement with patients and families.

Qualified candidates will have an OT license in Iowa (or eligibility), a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy with a Master’s preferred, and will meet mandatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under supervision for up to 6 months).
• Mandatory Reporter BLS FIM.
• Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable MVR (required for Outpt Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Contract Therapy).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Administers treatment techniques competently.
• Conducts patient assessment.
• Develops treatment plans for patients.
• Communicates relevant patient information.
• Provides education to patients and families.
• Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel.
• Supervises students and volunteers.
• Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under the supervision of an Iowalicensed OT for a period not to exceed 6 months from the date the application was received in the board office for licensure by examination).
• Mandatory Reporter BLS FIM.
• Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) (required for Outpt Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Contract Therapy).
